Lynne Marshall, Professional Dog Trainer and Behaviourist

Meet Lynne

My unique combination of dog psychology, positive training methods with good leadership techniques will change your dog’s behaviour and create a dog you can be proud of.

I have been around dog’s all my life, most of my family were involved in dogs one way or another. It wasn’t a surprise when after running a successful corporate company I decided to reskill and work with dogs and their owners on a professional basis.

My mission was to learn as much as possible from leading dog behaviourists, which took me primarily to the States where I learnt from world renowned names who had perfected their craft. Some of these included Dr. Ian Dunbar, Turid Rugaas, Cheri Lucas, Brian Agnew and Chad Mackin - invaluable experience which has enabled me to train any dog, breed or issue.

My work has been recognised on many levels. After successfully helping a dog who had never been able to leave the house enjoy a happy life I was invited to write for Crufts and the story was picked up worldwide by the national press. Since that time I have written for national magazines, appeared on TV and am a regular on BBC Radio Leicester sharing helpful tips with dog owners.

I believe in giving back and I have mentored dog trainers as well as volunteering for the national charity, the Doodle Trust where I give advice on difficult behavioural cases to both fosterers and new adopters.

Many years on I have successfully trained thousands of dogs. My methods are based on positive techniques, great leadership skills and easy to use methods that work for every dog. My style is non judgmental, calm and friendly; my aim is to take away your stress and give you the dog of your dreams. Please do take time to read my Reviews if you have a moment, and I look forward to working with you and your lovely dog.

How I Train Dogs

I treat your dog as a unique case and after an initial evaluation will use the right techniques to motivate your dog to change. There is never a 'one solution fits all' and as such a range of gentle and effective techniques based on dog psychology are used to restore your dog to the happy and balanced dog they deserve to be.

Being limited to just one technique is like saying that all children learn in the same way. Together we will work to create a great relationship so that both you and your dog are happy and comfortable with each other.  I work with you to create that special bond that exists when both you and your dog are on the same wavelength.

What does a typical appointment look like?

Before I arrive I will have sent you a questionnaire to fill out and return so that we’re not wasting time on the day. You may have sent me some videos of your dog’s behaviour to review as well. Most clients feel a little apprehensive on the day but you’ll soon feel at ease, a cup of tea as I evaluate your lovely dog always helps.
